The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), instituted by the European Union and effective from 25 May 2018, is an important regulation in the protection of individuals' privacy rights (including stricter restrictions on consent, the right to be forgotten, type and amount of personal data that can be used, data access and security, etc.).
Personal data protection is a top priority at MAS Research, and we process all personal data provided to us with due care.
Personal data is data that can be used to identify someone personally, regardless of whether it is used for that purpose.
The personal data provided to us in the context of a particular activity, business process or service provision are carefully stored and processed in accordance with the provisions of the aforementioned GDPR 2016/679. MAS Research also conforms to the code of conduct by the international association of market research agencies—the ESOMAR International Code on Market, Opinion and Social Research and Data Analysis—and follows the market research guidelines established by that association.
As Data Controller, MAS Research collects data from employees, customers, suppliers and members of the MAS research panel for various purposes:
Administration of personnel and intermediaries – necessary for the execution of a contract
Management of personnel and intermediaries – necessary for the execution of a contract
Work planning – controller's legitimate interests as an employer
Workplace check – controller’s legitimate interests as an employer
Customer management – necessary for the execution of a contract
Technical-commercial information – controller's legitimate interests arising from the commercial relationship
Supplier management – necessary for the execution of a contract
Technical-commercial information – controller's legitimate interests arising from the commercial relationship
Market research – data subject consent via opt-in
Statistical research – data subject consent via opt-in
Scientific research – data subject consent via opt-in
Management of rewards and quid pro quos for studies – data subject consent
Registration and administration of shareholders or partners – necessary for the execution of a contract
The above data will be communicated to third parties if necessary to fulfil the objective. MAS Research will enter into a processor agreement with processors, subprocessors and subcontractors to protect the personal data shared. MAS Research will not share more data than is strictly necessary for the execution of the processing agreement.
Every data subject has the right to access, correct, delete, block or transfer their data at any time. This can be done by sending a request to privacy@masresearch.be
MAS research panel members who expressly consent to the processing of their data may withdraw their consent at any time. This can easily be done by unsubscribing through personal emails.
As Processor, MAS Research also processes personal and research data for third parties, customers or partners. In that case, the customer or partner involved is the Controller for the data collected, and MAS Research will contractually undertake to subscribe to and comply with all provisions of the GDPR as a supplier. The customer or partner involved determines the purpose and legal basis of the data collection.
MAS Research takes internal measures to protect personal data from accidental alteration or destruction or falling into the hands of and being processed by unauthorised persons. The premises, server, network, transfers and data are strictly secured. Regular assessments are conducted to ensure that the level of security is optimal.
Employees are subject to strict confidentiality obligations and must follow the privacy policy carefully.
MAS Research does not retain personal data collected from employees, customers and suppliers for longer than strictly necessary. The retention period is determined by MAS Research's legal obligations as an employer and company.
MAS Research reserves the right to modify this privacy statement. All changes will be published on the website, and a notification will be posted on our homepage.
